You can identify your core personal Values and create your personal set of 31Practices. You can also reinforce your Practices by adding a photograph, a song videoclip and a quote that you like.
You’ll be reminded of your Practice each day and at the end of the day, you can rate how well you lived your Practice. You can see your performance over time and set rewards for a treat at the end of the month.
You can also record what you did, how this made you feel, and the impact your Practice had. Over time, you can scroll through all your experiences. You can also share your stories with friends.
It’s fun, fast and easy to do. And that’s all there is to it. my31Practices, how to be the best you can be… how to BE you.
Here are three simple questions:
- Do you want a life with a clear purpose?
- Do you want to be happy and less stressed?
- Do you want to be the best you can be?
For most of us, “Yes” is an easy answer, but to do this in practice is more of a challenge.
To be the best you can be starts with your core personal Values, giving a foundation for the way you want to behave. When our behaviour is not aligned with our Values, we feel stressed but when our hearts, minds and bodies are aligned then we find great personal power.
Your 31Practices translate the Values into very practical actions and behaviours. You focus on just one Practice each day, so it’s easy to do.

Rarely do I come across a book which is as complete as this one. Alan and Alison have left me nothing to say. They have put together an encyclopaedia of understanding about what it takes to build the neural pathways of an organisation.
The best thing about the 31Practices approach is how it energises front line employees and gives them confidence to bring the organisational values to life every day. One of the team in New York said "Our 31Practices is like my bible at work. I read it every day and it makes me a better person". Priceless!
The blend of emotional intelligence and commercial acumen is rare! The dedication to customer service is an example to follow.
